Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this Welder role is to perform expert welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance on a wide range of agricultural equipment. The position requires a combination of technical skill, safety consciousness, and strong customer service to ensure equipment is restored to optimal working condition efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform welding using MIG, ARG, TIG, and Gas (brazing, silversolder) techniques.
- Operate a plasma cutter, drill press/standing drill, and grinding tools.
- Conduct precision measurements with tools like Vernier calipers.
- Perform touch-up and spray-painting on repaired equipment.
Equipment Repair & Workshop Maintenance
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain John Deere and other agricultural equipment promptly.
- Conduct field work and routine maintenance using specialised tools.
- Monitor equipment performance post-repair and provide feedback.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop, proactively managing spills and debris.
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and procedures.
Customer Service, Administration & Development
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely, quality service and professional communication.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
- Attend all required training to stay current with technical skills.
- Apply new knowledge and pursue continuous learning to improve performance.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12/Matric).
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant welding experience.
- A valid Code 8 (EB) driver’s licence.
