Job Purpose
To perform skilled electrical installation, fault-finding, breakdown repairs, and planned maintenance on underground mining equipment. The electrician will ensure full compliance with all safety and mine regulations while working underground every shift and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily underground electrical work, including installations, fault-finding, and breakdown repairs.
- Conduct planned and preventive maintenance on all underground electrical equipment.
- Carry out inspections and compile accurate reports.
- Mentor and train junior electrical staff.
- Ensure 100% compliance with all safety protocols and mine regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Certifications:
- Valid Trade Certificate – Electrician (Red Seal / Section 13 / Artisan).
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven underground electrical experience.
- Medically fit for underground work.
- Clear criminal record (ITC & criminal checks will be conducted).

- In-depth knowledge of underground mining electrical systems and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills for rapid fault-finding and breakdown management.
