Job Purpose
To test and maintain the highest standards on all software releases for G4S’s security and business systems (including C#, Web, API, and Mobile applications). The role encompasses the full software testing life cycle, automated testing development, software licensing control, documentation, training, and providing specialised support, ensuring quality assurance through controlled version releases.
Key Responsibilities
Software Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Execute the full software testing life cycle (STLC) for new releases: requirement analysis, test planning, case design, execution (unit, integration, functional, E2E, etc.), and closure.
- Re-assign faulty releases to development with detailed fault analysis reports.
- Develop and implement automated GUI and API testing tools (using Katalon, Postman, JMeter, etc.).
Software Development & Support:
- Facilitate specification sign-off, monitor development progress, and manage version control.
- Log, monitor, and assist with all development-escalated queries, simulating faults and reporting on resolution.
Licensing, Documentation & Training:
- Control software licensing, ensuring legality and correct distribution.
- Compile and maintain all software module documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
- Conduct internal and external software training and certification (e.g., XTime User to Admin levels).
Administration & General:
- Perform stock control, invoicing, requisitions, and reporting.
- Adhere to and promote all workplace health and safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 / Matric Equivalent.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing, Analysis & Design, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software testing & documentation, SQL database management, and software support.
- Experience with API development (C#) and a wide range of API testing tools (Katalon, Postman, JMeter, Soap UI, etc.).
- HTML front-end development (junior to intermediate) and SQL scripting/querying.
- Advanced computer literacy (Windows 10, MS Server/SQL 2016+, MS Office).
Advantageous Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Software testing qualification (ISTQB).
- Training facilitation and documentation compilation skills.
- Knowledge of security/Time & Attendance products (Softcon, XTime, Gallagher, HID, etc.).
- Ability to read source code (C#, Java, JSON) and experience with source control.
Skills and Attributes:
- Proficient computer literacy, excellent written/verbal communication, and conflict management.
