The following vacancy has arisen within our establishment and we are seeking energetic, motivated individuals to join our retail team in Gauteng.
- Position: Shop Assistant/Cashier (P27 Role)
- Salary: Market-related + benefits
- Location: Gauteng

Job Purpose
To provide exceptional customer service, efficiently process transactions, and maintain store operations while representing Ackermans with professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service by assisting shoppers in finding products and addressing queries
- Process cash and card payments accurately and efficiently
- Handle Lay-Bys, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies
- Balance tills daily and report any discrepancies to supervisors
- Ensure stock is correctly priced, displayed, and well-maintained
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store
- Participate in stock takes and inventory management
- Monitor for and report suspicious activities or shoplifting
- Promote current promotions and special offers to customers
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate (advantageous but not essential)
- No previous experience required – full training provided
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be self-motivated and target-driven
- Fluent in English (additional South African languages beneficial)
