Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the Guard role is to protect Sibanye-Stillwater’s assets, employees, and visitors through diligent access control, patrolling, observation, and the execution of established security protocols within a mining environment.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Essential:
- NQF Level 4: Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate).
- A National Certificate Level 4 in Security (GET Services).
- A valid Firearm Competency certificate.
- At least 1 year of experience in a security-related role within a mining environment.
- A clear security screening record.
Advantageous:
- A valid driver’s licence (if applicable to the specific post).
Key Responsibilities
Core Security Functions
- Patrolling & Guarding: Execute foot and vehicle patrols, inspect infrastructure, and protect people and assets.
- Access Control: Manage the entrance of people/vehicles, verify identities, and conduct searches per approved procedures.
- Incident Response: Provide first-line reaction to security incidents and participate in crowd facilitation.
Reporting, Compliance & Safety
- Reporting: Document all observations, actions, and incidents on the Crime Administration System (CiMMS) and report suspicious behaviour.
- SHE Compliance: Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures. Participate in risk assessments.
- ESG Alignment: Execute duties in consideration of Human Rights Principles and responsible mining initiatives (e.g., WGC RGMPs).
Stakeholder & Culture
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Values & Culture: Actively support the organisational culture shift towards company values.

- Ability to follow procedures meticulously and work under pressure.
