Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure efficient customer service is maintained to increase sales volumes and improve market share for the Baking Division within the Stilfontein region. The Sales Representative will act as the key link between RCL Foods, its agents, and retail customers, driving execution and building strong trade relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Planning & Execution
- Achieve or exceed set monthly sales budget volumes.
- Develop and implement monthly action plans by customer to meet targets.
- Follow a structured weekly route list to ensure comprehensive market coverage.
- Continuously canvass for new business and identify sales opportunities.
Trade & Merchandising Management
- Negotiate for optimal shelf space and implement a minimum of 4 displays per month.
- Ensure correct merchandising and promotion of all company products in all outlets.
- Implement promotional plans effectively to drive volumes, including Friday and Saturday promotions.
- Demonstrate and promote the sales of bread and other baking products.
Agent Management & Development
- Conduct weekly review meetings and co-travel with agent sales staff for hands-on management.
- Identify agent weak points and develop plans to rectify performance gaps.
- Ensure agents are fully aware of and effectively execute all marketing activities.
- Distribute sales information, statistics, and targets weekly.
Customer Relationship & Reporting
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all store and regional managers.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to both agents and direct customers.
- Compile and submit detailed weekly reports covering sales activity, competitor actions, achievements, and agent performance versus budget.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, candidates must have:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- A Degree in Sales, Management, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
- A valid EB (Code 8) driver’s licence.
