Job Purpose
To serve as the professional first point of contact for clients and visitors while providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the George branch, including freight queries, documentation processing, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Client Service:

  • Manage the switchboard, greet visitors, and handle client queries.
  • Maintain the reception area and supervise correspondence collections.

Freight & Operations Support:

  • Prepare freight quotations, investigate and resolve freight queries/problems.
  • Administer discrepancy manifests, monitor third-party agent PODs, and assist with delivery/collection procedures.
  • Process waybill data in the Freightware system and handle Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.

Financial & Administrative Duties:

  • Process Cash on Delivery (COD) banking and report daily.
  • Monitor stationery stock, reconcile petrol/diesel slips, and undertake general filing.
  • Conduct customer service surveys and reconcile customer statements.

Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 1–2 years’ experience in reception and/or general clerical work.
  • Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (verbal and written).
  • Own reliable transport.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Freightware or similar logistics management systems (advantageous).
  • Basic understanding of warehousing/store procedures.

Work Ethic & Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and with high accuracy.
  • Professional, presentable, reliable, and a team player.
  • Willingness to work overtime based on operational needs.
