Job Purpose
To provide professional, quality protective services to the Central Depot and its satellite pumping stations. The officer is responsible for protecting Rand Water’s people, property, and assets in strict compliance with the National Key Point Act (Act 102 of 1980), company policies, and all relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Protect Rand Water’s personnel, property, and critical infrastructure as per current legislation.
- Enforce security protocols and access control at a National Key Point site.
- Conduct patrols, surveillance, and monitoring of the depot and satellite stations.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, threats, and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of all security activities and incidents.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Certifications:
- Grade 12 or N3 qualification.
- Valid PSIRA Grade C registration.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Firearm competency for business purposes (rifle, handgun, and shotgun).
- 2 years’ experience in a similar protective services/security environment.
Desired Training & Experience:
- National Key Point training.
- Dog handling and tactical training.
Knowledge:
- Firearm handling and safety.
- Public safety and security principles.
- National Key Point Act and other relevant legislation.
Skills & Attitude:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong observation, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle conflict and work effectively under pressure.
