About the Role
Join Stellenbosch Municipality’s Law Enforcement Team as a Patrol Officer. This frontline position ensures public safety, bylaw enforcement, and community protection through visible policing and rapid incident response.
Key Responsibilities
👮 Law Enforcement:
- Patrol designated areas to maintain public order
- Enforce municipal bylaws and regulations
- Respond to emergencies and incidents
📝 Reporting & Compliance:
- Document incidents and violations
- Submit daily activity reports
🚔 Collaboration:
- Work with SAPS and other agencies
- Conduct joint operations as required
🌙 Shift Work:
- Rotating shifts (including nights/weekends)
Requirements
✅ Essential:
- Grade 12 certificate
- 1+ year law enforcement/security experience
- Peace Officer Declaration (6 weeks training)
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Firearm Proficiency Certificate
- Clean criminal record (police clearance required)
✅ Skills & Attributes:
✔ Fluency in 2/3 Western Cape languages (Afrikaans/Xhosa/English)
✔ Conflict resolution & public relations
✔ Physical fitness for patrol duties
✅ Advantageous:
- Code C1 driver’s license
