Programme Purpose
To provide structured training and development for individuals to qualify as a Millwright Artisan. The programme combines practical on-the-job training with theoretical learning, preparing you for a successful career in maintaining and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems within a large-scale industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
During the apprenticeship, you will learn to:

  • Achieve proven competence in pre-identified areas per the millwright discipline relevant to plant/mine equipment and systems.
  • Understand and correctly use the plant maintenance documentation system.
  • Understand the planning and work management system.
  • Gain relevant plant/mine-specific and basic process knowledge.
  • Apply emergency procedures correctly and safely.
  • Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessments.

Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications:

  • Completed Matric (Grade 12) or N3 technical certificate.
  • pass in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English is required.
  • 0 – 1 year of relevant experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • A strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
