Job Purpose
To operate Mining-related machinery and equipment within designed parameters in order to reduce waste and optimise operating costs, while actively participating in a structured upskilling and development programme.
Key Accountabilities
Safety & Operational Execution
- Apply and maintain safety as the highest priority in the working environment.
- Carry out work according to plan and participate in daily morning meetings.
- Adhere to safety standards, maintain good housekeeping, and follow waste disposal procedures.
- Attend and actively participate in toolbox talks, PDAs (Problem Defect Analyses), and RCAs (Root Cause Analyses).
Equipment & Skill Development
- Operate mining machinery and equipment as trained.
- Perform basic plant inspections and assist with minor repairs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Identify faults and spot continuous improvement opportunities in your work area.
- Attend required training courses and seminars to improve competency and skills as per the training matrix.
- Identify personal training needs for incorporation into a Personal Development Plan (PDP).
Communication & Feedback
- Provide adequate feedback to supervisors and customers on work progress.
- Ensure correct history feedback is captured on work orders.
Minimum Requirements
Formal Education:
- Completed Matric / Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent qualification.
Advantageous Experience:
- Mining Underground experience will be a significant advantage.

- Verbal Communication, Troubleshoots Technical Issues, SHE Policies & Standards.
- Risk Management, Mining Equipment Efficiency.
