Job Purpose
To provide essential cleaning, maintenance, and support services within the library facility, ensuring a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for both staff and the public, thereby supporting the effective operation of municipal library services.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean offices, bathrooms, stockrooms, kitchens, and public areas to ensure a healthy and pleasant working environment.
- Serve tea and coffee to visitors and staff of the department.
- Prepare meeting venues by cleaning, setting out water decanters, glasses, and refreshments.
- Assist with general office administration duties when core cleaning tasks are complete.
- Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested by the supervisor or management.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 10 qualification.
- One (1) year of relevant experience in general work/cleaning within a Local Government Authority or similar environment.
- Must be bilingual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow and execute given instructions accurately.
- Good physical health and basic skills for physical work.
- Must be a hard-working and self-disciplined person.
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Preference will be given to Midvaal residents only.
