Duties and Responsibilities
As a General Maintenance Assistant, you will ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained. Your key tasks include:
✅ Miscellaneous Maintenance Tasks – Performing minor repairs, facility upkeep, and handling general tasks.
✅ General Gardening & Grounds Maintenance – Landscaping, gardening, and keeping outdoor areas presentable.
✅ General Handyman Skills – Basic plumbing, electrical fixes, and minor repairs.
Competencies and Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
✔ Excellent eyesight – Attention to detail for safety and quality work.
✔ Punctuality – Ensuring smooth school operations.
✔ Helpfulness, energy, responsibility, and reliability – Key traits for team success.
✔ Willingness to work overtime – Flexibility for extended hours when needed.
✔ Communication skills – Interacting effectively with staff and students.

Qualifications and Experience
- Valid driver’s license (required for transporting materials).
- Grade 12 or relevant Trade qualification.
- Fluency in English (clear communication essential).
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance/handyman work (school environment preferred).
