OMNIA BME, a leader in mining and blasting solutions, is seeking General Assistants to support operations in Northern Cape and Cape Town. This role is crucial in ensuring safe and efficient blasting operations while maintaining high standards of workplace safety and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Assist truck operators in product collection & delivery to blasting sites
✔ Conduct risk assessments & safe work declarations with the blaster
✔ Prepare blast areas according to safety & regulatory standards
✔ Inspect sites, map drill holes, and verify hole depths
✔ Maintain clean workspaces, vehicles, and refill areas
✔ Follow all statutory, client, and BME safety protocols
Minimum Requirements
✅ Grade 12 (with Mathematics)
✅ Physical fitness (ability to work in mining environments)
✅ Attention to detail & safety-conscious mindset
✅ Willingness to work in remote mining locations
✅ Teamwork & reliability
