Job Overview
G4S Cash Solutions, Africa’s leading integrated cash management provider, seeks a Branch Security Officer to ensure comprehensive security operations at our Crown Mines branch. This critical role supports the Branch Manager in maintaining robust security protocols and protecting high-value assets.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations (40%)
✔ Conduct monthly branch security evaluations and risk assessments
✔ Test and maintain alarm systems (daily checks + weekly full inspections)
✔ Manage armed escort deployments for cash-in-transit operations
✔ Lead crime scene management during incidents (no media engagement)
Compliance & Reporting (30%)
✔ Maintain 7 critical registers:
- Firearms & ammunition
- Equipment inventory
- ID/visitor access
- Stained notes
- Key custody
✔ Submit cash loss reports (<R1000 within 24hrs with CCTV footage)
✔ Investigate E-Viper overrides and security breaches
Team Supervision (20%)
✔ Train staff on SOPs for:
- Vehicle loading/movement
- Banking hall operations
- Emergency radio procedures
✔ Oversee Tactical Support Officers’ performance
Health & Safety (10%)
✔ Enforce PPE compliance
✔ Lead monthly safety talks
✔ Report incidents via company protocols
Requirements
Mandatory Credentials
- PSIRA Grade B + CIT certification
- Valid driver’s license + PrDP
- Grade 12 certificate
Technical Skills
- Advanced MS Office (Excel reporting essential)
- Firearm competency (business purposes)
- Surveillance system operation
Behavioral Competencies
- Risk management: 3/5 score on internal matrix
- Crisis leadership: Demonstrated in past roles
