Job Purpose
As a key member of the Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering exceptional hospitality services to our guests. This involves setting up facilities, preparing and serving beverages, delivering food services, and ensuring a seamless, professional customer experience that contributes to operational excellence and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Work Areas: Set up mise-en-place, place settings, and function spaces (restaurants, conferences, banquets). Ensure cleanliness, compliance with health/safety regulations, and report any issues.
- Deliver Food Services: Take accurate guest orders, explain menu items, make recommendations, interact with the kitchen, deliver food, clear tables, handle billing, and upsell promotional items.
- Prepare & Deliver Beverage Services: Prepare and serve beverages and cocktails to standard, manage bar stock counts, handle cashiering, and report on breakages or anomalies.
- Customer Engagement: Provide a warm welcome, interact professionally, handle complaints, and educate guests on facilities and promotions.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of the F&B team to achieve service standards and operational goals.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF qualification.
- 2 years’ previous experience as a waiter, bartender, or in a customer service environment within hospitality.
Technical Competencies:
- Food & Beverage product knowledge and service skills.
- Basic barrister skills, stock control, and cashiering.
- Good written and verbal English communication and numeracy skills.
- Basic computer literacy and upselling ability.
Work Conditions & Special Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
- Physically able to move operating equipment.
- Open attitude to performing similar functions in different outlets as required.
- Preference will be given to candidates from the Mgungundlovu Communal Property Association (MCPA) and specific licensed areas in the Eastern Cape.
