Job Purpose
To respond to fire and emergency incidents, protect lives and property, and provide vital community services through professional firefighting and rescue operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding promptly to fire alarms, rescue calls, and other emergencies.
  • Operating firefighting equipment, vehicles, and breathing apparatus efficiently.
  • Performing rescue operations and providing emergency medical care as a first responder.
  • Conducting fire safety inspections and prevention training within the community.
  • Maintaining all firefighting equipment and apparatus in a state of readiness.
  • Participating in continuous training drills and physical fitness programs.
  • Completing accurate incident reports and documentation after emergency calls.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • IFSAC Accredited NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of firefighting experience (for Fire Fighter roles).
  • Minimum of 2 years training/experience (for Junior Fire Fighter role).
  • Valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP (for Fire Fighter roles).
  • Valid driver’s license (for Junior Fire Fighter role).
  • Medically and physically fit to perform demanding duties.
  • First Aid Levels 1 to 3 & EMT Certification.
  • Hazardous materials (Hazmat) experience.
  • Candidates must be South African Citizens.
