Position Overview
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) seeks two Electrical General Assistants to support maintenance of electrical systems across campuses. This role is ideal for those with basic electrical knowledge seeking stable employment in education sector maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Perform electrical repairs & respond to maintenance call-outs
✔ Test equipment & assist licensed electricians
✔ Maintain repair records & inventory of electrical spares
✔ Coordinate safety permits (hot works, shut-offs)
✔ Travel between campuses as required
Requirements
✅ Grade 10 certificate (NQF 2)
✅ 1+ year electrical maintenance experience
✅ Basic knowledge of electrical systems
✅ Willingness to work weekends
Advantageous
