Job Purpose
The main purpose of this job is to provide a safe, prompt, and efficient delivery service to all store clients. The driver is responsible for ensuring all items are delivered without breakages or shortages, maintaining the vehicle, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Core Delivery & Driving Duties
- Deliver goods safely, promptly, and efficiently to customers.
- Ensure the vehicle is neatly and securely packed to prevent damage.
- Supervise and assist with loading and unloading of goods.
- Supply the correct quantities and items as per delivery notes.
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
- Conduct daily inspection checks on the vehicle.
- Promptly report any defects or issues with the vehicle.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle.
- Actively work to reduce costs related to vehicle operation.
Customer Service & Administration
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Obtain proper authorizations on all delivery notes.
- Collect COD (Cash on Delivery) monies accurately and securely.

Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Licences:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- A valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence (for Heavy Vehicles up to 16,000 kg) OR a valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence (for Light Vehicles under 3500 kg). The specific requirement depends on the vehicle used for deliveries.
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant driving experience, preferably in a delivery or logistics role.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a strong safety record.
- Physical fitness for loading and unloading goods.
- Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanour.
- Integrity and trustworthiness, especially when handling cash (COD).
- Attention to detail for order accuracy and vehicle checks.
