Available EPWP Positions
The Department is seeking applicants for the following roles:
- Community Health Work Assistants (24 positions)
- General Workers – Food Service Aids (200 positions)
Both positions offer a monthly stipend of R4,235.00, providing individuals with a sustainable income during the contract period. These positions are ideal for people who want to make a difference in their communities and gain experience in health and food service management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Community Health Work Assistants
✅ Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) + N6 qualification or equivalent.
- An undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6 will be advantageous.
✅ Skills & Experience:
- Experience in data capturing, patient records management, and administrative duties in health facilities.
- Familiarity with Web District Health Information System (DHIS) and other community health management systems.
- Computer literacy is a must.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English, as well as any other local language, will be beneficial.
General Workers – Food Service Aids
✅ Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) + N6 or equivalent qualification in Catering & Hospitality Management.
✅ Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of food service operations, safety procedures, and equipment use.
- Experience in cooking, food preparation, and presentation is a plus.
- Understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards.
Key Responsibilities
Community Health Work Assistants
- Manage health records & patient files.
- Perform data capturing & reporting.
- Ensure timely submission of reports.
- Maintain accurate physical & digital records.
General Workers – Food Service Aids
- Prepare & serve meals to hospital patients.
- Follow dietary requirements & food safety protocols.
- Clean kitchen areas & equipment.
- Manage food service delivery to hospital wards.
