Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to perform general and deep cleaning of all office and facility areas to ensure a safe, hygienic, and well-presented working environment. The cleaner will be responsible for adhering to strict SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards, including Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) protocols.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

As a Cleaner, your key duties will include:

Core Cleaning Duties

  • Perform general clean-up of all office facilities.
  • Clean, stock, and supply all designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting).
  • Dispose of trash from bins and containers.
  • Carry out deep cleaning, detailed cleaning tasks, and heavy cleaning as required.
  • Handle special/ad-hoc cleaning projects.

Equipment, Supply & Compliance

  • Safely operate heavy cleaning equipment and machinery (e.g., polishing/stripping machines).
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms.
  • Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Ensure compliance with all SHEQ and Worker Safety regulations.
  • Notify management of any deficiencies or repairs required in the facilities.

Minimum Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 10.
  • Basic reading and writing skills.
  • Proven experience in a similar cleaning role.
  • At least 2 years of cleaning experience.
  • Must be able to use polishing and stripping machines.

Advantageous:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate will be an added advantage.
