Job Purpose
To create awareness that Dis-Chem offers a variety of skincare and body treatments, and to be responsible for contributing to proper client liaison and care when performing these treatments. The Beauty Therapist is key to driving the salon’s reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Client Care & Treatment Execution
- Provide customers with an excellent salon experience from start to finish.
- Perform professional treatments including facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures in line with Dis-Chem’s high standards.
- Report and provide feedback on customer queries, complaints, and compliments.
Salon Operations & Development
- Keep abreast of new products, treatments, and service techniques in the beauty industry.
- Manage stock levels according to the salon’s needs.
- Ensure all relevant equipment is operational, clean, and sanitary at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- A 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
- A minimum of 12 months’ technical/practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment.
- Computer literate with sound numerical skills.
- Willing and able to work retail hours (including weekends and public holidays).
Advantageous:
- A 3-year relevant qualification in Beauty Therapy.
- A minimum of 3 years’ technical/practical experience.
- Training in soft laser, bio-magnetic, microdermabrasion, slimming, spray tan, or any laser equipment.
- Bilingual ability.
Required Competencies & Knowledge
Essential:
- Possess general knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for treatments.
- Strong command of English (written and oral).
- Be a team player with excellent customer relations skills.
- Be deadline and target driven.
Special Conditions of Employment
- Willing and able to work retail hours and travel to/from the store.
- Must be fit and able to perform massage, facial, and body treatments.
- Must be a South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
