Job Purpose
This learnership programme is designed to train you to package products using automated packaging equipment while maintaining the highest health, safety, and quality standards. You will develop essential business understanding, mechanical maintenance skills, and effective communication abilities necessary for line coordination and efficient operation in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
As a Learnership candidate, your key performance areas will include:
Line Operations & Safety
- Perform general line operations and cleaning activities as per daily operational plans.
- Conduct pre-start-up checks to confirm equipment readiness, area cleanliness, and safety in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain personal and team safety on the production line at all times.
Quality Control & Problem Solving
- Monitor product and packaging quality against set standards and report any faults or defects promptly.
- Detect process abnormalities and take immediate corrective action to prevent issues from escalating.
Equipment Care & Preparation
- Clean machinery according to the manufacturer’s guidelines and specific site specifications.
- Prepare and check raw materials for production use.
Programme Compliance & Sustainability
- Comply with all learnership requirements, including formal assessments, logbook completion, and assigned projects.
- Actively contribute to an eco-efficient and sustainable work environment.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric) with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science.
- OR an N2/N3/N4 Engineering qualification.
