Purpose
To provide general site assistance and support within mining and tailings operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Collaborate with site teams to support the achievement of operational goals and targets.
- Safety & Inspections: Assist with daily inspections of the designated area, reporting any deviations or hazards immediately.
- Pipeline & Valve Assistance: Support pipeline and valve operations under the supervision of qualified personnel.
- Problem-Solving: Assist with problem-solving for operational challenges and escalate deviations to the site team.
- General Duties: Perform any general assigned site activities as required to support operations.
- Housekeeping: Perform basic housekeeping duties in work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Compliance: Execute all assigned tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a mining, industrial, or similar environment.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork abilities.
- Good listening skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and a strong safety consciousness.
General Requirements
- Positive screening results, including criminal record checks.
- Physical, mental, and medical fitness for the role.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts.
- May be required to work overtime as needed.
