Job Purpose
As an Artisan Winder Electrician, you will support the Senior Electrical Foreman in maintaining, installing, and commissioning winder control and electrical systems. Your role ensures compliance with OEM standards, safety regulations, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies (MHSA Act 1996).
- Conduct risk assessments and zero-harm practices.
✅ Technical Maintenance:
- Maintain winder control systems, compressors, and shaft electrical systems.
- Update electrical documentation (drawings, databases).
- Perform MV switching and preventative maintenance.
✅ Operational Excellence:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- Align with planned maintenance schedules.
- Exercise judgment on component repair/replacement.
✅ Collaboration:
- Report to the Senior Electrical Foreman (VUP Engineering).
- Work shifts, standby duties, and overtime as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
🎓 Grade 12/N3 (NQF 4) with Maths & Physical Science
🔧 Trade Certificate: Electrician
⚡ MQA Certification: Medium Voltage (MV) & Winder Competency
Experience:
🛠️ 5+ years in electrical maintenance (min. 3 years in winder/shaft systems).
🔌 Preferred:
- Experience with ACS 6000/SIL-rated systems.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards.
Skills & Requirements:
🚗 Valid EB/Code 8 Driver’s License
💻 Computer Literacy (MS Office)
🔄 Ability to work shifts, overtime, and at heights/confined spaces
🏥 Medical Fitness Certificate (underground/HTS clearance)
