Purpose of the Job
To support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability, adhering to procedures, and utilising all resources to increase plant stability and sustainability.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform service and general maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Conduct fault-finding and problem-solving on mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and adhere to all quality and safety management systems.
- Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessments and hazard identification protocols.
- Use the plant maintenance documentation system effectively.
- Actively participate in discussions to improve maintenance processes and quality.
- Must be willing and able to work shifts and overtime as required.
- Maintain a strong safety consciousness and practice good housekeeping.

Minimum Requirements
Formal Education:
- Completed Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent with Maths and Science.
- A completed, recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter.
- A valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
Experience:
- A minimum of 6+ months of relevant working experience.
- Experience in an explosives manufacturing environment is a strong added advantage.
