Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, a leading employer in South Africa’s South Coast region, is seeking a skilled Artisan Mechanic to join its Technical Services Department. This role is ideal for qualified mechanics with experience in diesel/petrol engines, heavy plant machinery, and hydraulic systems.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

✔ Inspect, repair, and maintain municipal vehicles & machinery
✔ Diagnose faults in diesel/petrol engines, hydraulics, and truck-mounted cranes
✔ Order parts, supervise junior staff, and enforce safety standards
✔ Test-drive vehicles & report on maintenance needs

Minimum Requirements

✅ Grade 12 or equivalent
✅ Trade Test Certificate (Mechanic)
✅ 2-4 years’ experience in diesel/petrol mechanics
✅ Valid EC Driving License
✅ Certification in truck-mounted crane & heavy plant operation
