Job Overview
Sibanye-Stillwater, a global precious metals mining group, is recruiting a Security Guard for its Gold Operations. This critical role focuses on asset protection, access control, and emergency response in a high-risk mining environment.
The successful candidate will ensure the safety of personnel and resources through vigilant patrolling, strict access control, and rapid incident response.
Key Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications
✔ Grade 10 (Minimum education)
✔ PSIRA Grade C registration (Active)
✔ Firearm Competency Certificate (SAPS-approved, FCA 60 of 2000)
✔ Valid Driver’s License
Experience & Skills
✔ 3+ years in high-risk security environments
✔ Strong English proficiency (verbal/written reporting)
✔ Physical fitness for patrols and emergency response
✔ Ability to work rotating shifts
Screening Requirements
✔ Clear criminal record
✔ Pass medical fitness assessment
✔ Successfully complete psychometric testing
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Enforce access control protocols for personnel/vehicles
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of mining infrastructure
- Perform random searches per security procedures
Risk Mitigation
- Identify and report security vulnerabilities
- Respond to suspicious activities/incidents
- Provide crowd control support when required
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain detailed activity logs
- Submit incident reports to supervisors
- Adhere to Firearm Control Act regulations
