Job Overview

Petra Diamonds Limited, a world-leading supplier of rough diamonds, seeks a highly skilled Security Officer to join its Sales & Marketing team in Kempton Park. Reporting to the Manager: Product Protection, you will safeguard company assets, enforce security protocols, and ensure a secure environment for high-value operations.

This role is ideal for a PSIRA Grade A-certified professional with corporate security experience, firearm proficiency, and strong technical skills in surveillance and access control.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

Control access to the Sales & Marketing facility, ensuring strict adherence to security policies.
Plan and execute security protection tasks (static, venue, and transport security).
Operate and manage surveillance systems, including alarms and CCTV.
Oversee goods delivery/collection, verifying documentation and preventing losses.

Compliance & Reporting

Report non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct security inspections, patrols, and risk assessments.
Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant legislation (e.g., OHSA, PSIRA).

Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with Group Security, Sales & Marketing teams, and SCCC.
Communicate security updates and incidents effectively.

Technical Duties

Perform first-line maintenance of security systems.
Conduct live surveillance and archive incident footage.
Ensure firearm readiness (handgun & carbine proficiency).

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Grade 12 (Matric).
PSIRA Grade A registration.
National Certificate: General Security Practices (NQF Level 3).
Firearm competency (business purpose for handgun & carbine).
3+ years’ security experience (corporate/mining preferred).
Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
Knowledge of diamond/mining security protocols (advantageous).
