Purpose of the Position
To lead a store team in achieving all business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes driving sales, controlling costs, mitigating risks and stock loss, managing administration, and ensuring world-class store standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales & Service: Increase sales by focusing on exceptional customer service, maintaining world-class store standards and image, managing stock effectively, and implementing promotions.
- Minimise Stock Loss: Foster a healthy store culture and rigorously follow all security measures, stock handling, and cash management procedures to minimize losses.
- Cost Control: Manage store costs efficiently in line with the company’s low-cost culture.
- Administration: Ensure all administrative duties and reporting are completed accurately and in accordance with company guidelines.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, coach, and manage the performance of a dynamic store team (“Dynamos”).
- Standards & Safety: Maintain high general health, safety, and housekeeping standards throughout the store.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- A relevant tertiary degree or diploma in a business/retail-related field is a strong advantage.
- Experience:
- Ideally 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment, with experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Computer literacy is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google GSuite is an advantage.
- Attributes Required:
- A genuine passion for retail and delivering a world-class customer experience.
- Demonstrable integrity and a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Solid managerial capabilities: ability to plan, lead, organise, and control.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Willingness to work retail trading hours, including weekends and public holidays.
