The City of Cape Town invites unemployed youth (18-35 years) to join its Metro Police & Traffic Learnership. This intensive program offers:
✔ Professional training at the Public Safety Training College
✔ Hands-on experience in road traffic law enforcement
✔ Stipend for the 18-month duration
(Note: No guaranteed employment after completion)
Minimum Requirements
✅ Grade 12 certificate
✅ Permanent residence in Cape Town (proof required)
✅ Fluent in English + 1 official language
✅ Valid Code B manual driver’s license
✅ Medically & physically fit (see fitness tests below)
✅ No criminal record or visible tattoos
✅ Unemployed status (students/EPWP may apply)
Rigorous Fitness Tests (Elimination-Based)
- 2.4km run (♂11 min / ♀13 min)
- 30 push-ups & sit-ups in 60 sec
- 100m heavy load carry (2×25kg)
- Tyre drag, wall climb, swim test
(Pregnant applicants excluded from physical assessments)
