Job Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to create innovative AI/IA products and develop advanced analytical models using large and varied datasets. The Data Scientist will work within a collaborative community across Advanced Analytics, technology, and business functions to drive strategic initiatives and contribute to Vodafone’s global AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist at Vodacom, you will:
AI/IA Product Development & Modelling
- Create AI/IA products that deliver new, valuable services to Vodacom and its stakeholders.
- Develop advanced analytical models using large and varied datasets, collaborating with colleagues across Advanced Analytics, tech, and business units.
- Develop and implement machine learning models for various business areas on Big Data Platforms.
- Conduct machine learning model performance tracking and reporting.
Collaboration & Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to the wider Vodafone community to enable and elevate AI capability across the group globally.
- Work with lead and principal data scientists to deliver key strategic initiatives that meet the needs of business customers.
- Use compelling data visualizations to engage audiences and enable effective storytelling with data.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (essential).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Big Data & Data Science.
