CPUT is seeking 23 dedicated and hardworking Cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness across its campuses. If you have a Grade 10 qualification, 2 years of cleaning experience, and the physical ability to handle demanding tasks, this could be the perfect role for you!
Job Purpose
To ensure all assigned areas (buildings, facilities, and work zones) are kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained according to university standards.
Requirements
✔ Grade 10 (Standard 8) qualification *(Matric/Grade 12 is advantageous)*
✔ Certificate in Hygiene/Cleaning/Housekeeping (preferred)
✔ Minimum 2 years of cleaning experience
✔ Experience in handling cleaning chemicals, equipment, and machinery
✔ Physical fitness (able to climb ladders, operate machinery, and perform heavy-duty cleaning)
✔ Knowledge of health & safety standards
Key Responsibilities
✔ Perform daily cleaning, deep cleaning, stripping, and sealing of buildings
✔ Replenish consumables (soap, paper towels, etc.) as needed
✔ Report maintenance issues to the supervisor
✔ Assist in ad-hoc duties when required
✔ Maintain and properly store cleaning equipment
✔ Ensure health & safety compliance at all times
